New Dragon Quest XI S screenshots showcase Switch exclusive features


Square Enix has released a new set of beautiful screenshots for their upcoming Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition, which will include all the content from the original Dragon Quest XI plus extra goodies exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.

The new screenshots give us a closer look at some interesting new features coming to the Switch version of the game, like the ability to gain experience points when your horse knocks away an enemy on the field, new monster mounts, and three different battle speeds.

The screens also showcase the new graphic option, the 2D mode from the 3DS versionwhich you can switch to, alongside the brand new photo mode.


Here's a list of all the new features:


-Party members will follow you on the field-

-You can talk directly to party members without opening the menu-

-You can change the music from Orchestra to Synthesizer at any point by going to the sound settings in the menu-

-You can dash with the ZR button-

-By using the new “Horse Bell” item, you can call your horse at any time-


-You can now gain experience points when your horse knocks away an enemy on the field-


-You can change the battle speed to “Normal,” “Fast,” or “Really Fast”-


-The quests from the 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI in which you visit the worlds of past Dragon Quest titles will be included in the Switch version, but not without changes-


-New character storylines, with one major quest for each of the characters in your party-


-The ability to switch between English and Japanese Voice acting-



Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition will launch for Nintendo Switch on September 27.
